The instant repair patch
for virtually any surface.
Instapatch is a UV-cure repair patch that bonds permanently to virtually any hard surface. Peel off the backing, press it into place, and cure it under daylight or a UV lamp. No tools, no mixing, no specialist knowledge required. Waterproof from the moment it cures.
One patch,
hundreds of repairs.
Instapatch bonds to metal, asbestos, fibreglass, plastic, wood, concrete, and most painted surfaces. It is used by roofing contractors fixing asbestos and felt roofs, marine engineers patching boat hulls, vehicle bodywork repairers, farmers fixing water tanks, and homeowners sorting leaking gutters. If it is hard and relatively clean, Instapatch will stick to it.
Four steps.
One permanent fix.
The entire process takes between 15 and 45 minutes depending on how strong the UV light is. On a bright summer day outdoors you can be done in a quarter of an hour. In overcast conditions or indoors with a UV lamp it takes a little longer. Either way, once it has cured you can drill it, sand it, and paint over it.
Clean the surface
The surface needs to be clean, dry, and free from loose material or grease. On smooth surfaces like fibreglass or metal this takes seconds. On rough or porous surfaces such as asbestos cement, fibre cement, or weathered concrete, apply the Instapatch UV Primer first and let it fully dry before applying the patch. The primer seals the surface and dramatically improves adhesion.
Cut to shape
Open the lightproof foil pouch somewhere away from direct sunlight or bright indoor lighting. The patch is light-sensitive before it cures, so work reasonably quickly once it is out of the pouch. Trim it to the shape and size you need using ordinary household scissors while it is still inside the black protective film. Round off any sharp corners for the best adhesion.
Peel and press
Peel away the white release film to expose the tacky resin surface, then press it firmly onto the repair area. Instapatch is pliable enough to mould around curves, into cracks, and over bolt heads or raised edges. Work from the centre outward and apply firm pressure across the whole patch, paying particular attention to the edges to prevent any lifting once it cures.
Cure under UV
Remove the outer clear protective film and expose the patch to UV light. In direct summer sunlight it achieves a full hard cure in around 15 minutes. In weaker light or indoors under a 365nm UV lamp, allow 30 to 45 minutes. Once cured the patch is rigid, waterproof, and permanent. It can be drilled, tapped, sanded smooth, and painted over with most water or solvent-based paints.
One patch.
Built for the job.
Instapatch uses an isophthalmic resin matrix that cures under UV light to a hard, permanent, waterproof repair. It covers virtually every repair application, bonding to metal, fibreglass, asbestos, plastic, wood and concrete, and is available in three sizes plus a continuous roll for trade use.
Bulk packs and custom sizes available. Custom sizes are grey only and quoted on request with a 3-week lead time.
